I was born and raised in India and have seen people suffer due to lack of access to basic services. The focus of the government is to reduce social inequalities, but they overlooked the negative impact this singular approach has had on the environment. Current measures taken by governments are not enough to solve our social and environmental problems, and I passionately believe that impact investment is a form of asset allocation that has the ability to drive private capital to address these problems, without having to sacrifice market based returns for the investor. Given the size of private capital – impact provided significant scalable opportunities. We just have to open our eyes and participate. My eyes are wide open to the possibilities impact investing presents for positive change for people and the environment that supports them.
