Having witnessed the rising prominence of social and environmental problems stemming from lacking government policies to address climate change and socioeconomic disparities, I realised that the world was facing issues extending beyond just the economics. Disappointed at the scarcity of government measures for climate mitigation and other societal challenges, which would otherwise affect future generations, I’ve discovered the large-scale power of impact investing in providing the infrastructure to enable governments and corporate institutions to unite and efficiently contribute to achieving UN SDGs targets.
Thus, beyond my role as a business student, I passionately believe in giving back to the world and leaving it in a better state than we found it. Searching within a toolbox of solutions, impact investing acts as the antidote – it considers social and environmental impacts to ensure every business decision plays a role in making a measurable difference to stakeholders. My journey in the impact investing space has made me curious to discover a world where impact principles in capital markets facilitate our society’s capacity to drive long-lasting, sustainable change.
